Highway Culvert Design and Installation: Teton Pass
In June 2024, a considerable amount of rain caused a mudslide that covered and blocked a section of the Teton Pass Roadway. The road was impassable, which was a hinderance to hundreds of people who use the Teton pass to commute to work. There was an emergency bid for the pass to be fixed, and Avail Valley Construction took on the job. They quickly put in a square concrete culvert to restore the flow of traffic and prevent future mudslides from blocking the road.
On behalf of the State of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Transportation, we offer our sincere gratitude for your assistance and support in getting Teton Pass open. We are beyond impressed by the level of commitment and effort you’ve put forth in aiding the State of Wyoming in the response to the Big Fill landslide.
Throughout this event, which undoubtedly brought on stress and extra hours away from home, you helped keep drivers safe and supported WYDOT on multiple fronts with grace and efficiency while the country — and even the world — was watching. Your community spirit is inspiring to us and many others.
These past few weeks have proven that when the going gets tough, capable partners like you are willing to step up and lend a helping hand. We have demonstrated that together, we can work beyond stereotypes of red tape and bureaucracy to get valuable and timely work done for the people.
