Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing project blueprints, specifications, and proposals to make accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and client.
- Researching and sourcing competitive pricing for materials, labor, and equipment necessary for each project.
- Preparing and submitting detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and project budgets.
- Monitoring project costs throughout the construction process to ensure alignment with initial estimates.
- Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, local building codes, and changes in market pricing.
- Assisting in contract negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain competitive pricing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years of experience in cost estimation or project budgeting.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
